Key Themes from 2025 Disclosures

The 2024-25 Energy Charter Signatory Disclosures highlight the momentum and innovation across our Full Signatories as they work #BetterTogether to put customers + communities at the centre of the energy transition. This year’s themes show tangible steps to build trust, improve services and deliver shared value.

Here are some of the key takeaways:

  1. Energy Transition: Signatories are stepping up to support Australia’s clean energy future. From Essential Energy’s storage and flexible load tariff trials to Endeavour Energy’s Illawarra REZ Benefits Study, through to Powerlink Queensland’s optimisation of new transmission connections – we’re seeing concrete examples of the transition being delivered in practice.
  2. Customer-Centricity: Better engagement and transparency remain core. Endeavour Energy has enhanced its outage communications, CS Energy is transforming its retail platforms, and TasNetworks continues to strengthen customer service through satisfaction programs. Each of these initiatives shows how putting the customer at the heart leads to stronger relationships and outcomes.
  3. Equity and Affordability: Energy affordability is a shared responsibility. CS Energy is supporting PFAS-affected landholders with drinking water solutions, while TasNetworks has developed strategic benefit payments in partnership with TasFarmers and local landholders – practical examples of equity in action.
  4. Innovation and Technology: Technology is unlocking smarter, safer and more efficient networks. AusNet Services is rolling out Advanced Metering Infrastructure, Essential Energy is piloting storage and tariff innovations, and Endeavour Energy is driving new digital engagement platforms to connect better with customers.
  5. Social Licence and Community Engagement: Trust is being strengthened through deeper partnerships. Highlights include AusNet Services’ Energy Resilience Community Fund, Essential Energy’s community roadshows and Powerlink Queensland’s Indigenous Relationship Agreements. Across the board, Signatories are investing in co-designed, transparent solutions that put communities at the heart of the transition.
