Power Outage Plan: Don't be in the dark. Know what to do.

Our Power Outage Plan campaign, developed as part of The Energy Charter’s #BetterTogether Community Energy Resilience initiative, equips Australians with the knowledge and tools to prepare for unexpected power outages, particularly during extreme weather events.
With increasing climate-related challenges, being prepared isn’t just smart but essential for community energy resilience. Our simple, actionable “CHECK. PLAN. DO.” framework helps households know exactly what steps to take before a power outage. This community-developed approach focuses on practical solutions that protect well-being and reduce stress during disruptive events.
We’re encouraging all Australians to complete a Power Outage Plan at www.poweroutageplan.com.au.
The microsite is fully accessible and in plain English with translations in five key languages available. It also includes First Nations design, Easy Read, AUSLAN captioned videos and tagged PDFs for low-vision users. It includes a clear, accessible Power Outage Plan + Checklist that supports people to assess risks, make plans and act before outages occur.
This campaign as part of the #BetterTogether Community Energy Resilience initiative is a collaboration between consumer and community voices and the energy sector.
